Hi, this is my first post.
I have just had Visio re-installed on my work laptop. When I open a new Cross-Functional Flowchart I do not get the Title bar nor the two swim lanes. When I drag a swim lane on the blank sheet I cannot adjust its length and height.
I had it initially installed last week and worked on a flow. When I tried to open it another day I got an Error 275. So this morning I had in my mind I would start it agian. However I didn't get the title bar nor the two smim lanes so...

I noticed visio containers that were grouped had some icons top left (these look like jigsaw puzzle) ungrouping the content of the containers did not eliminate the puzzles. I want to understand how the puzzles were created. Please help.

Trying to delete a page/tab in MS Visio Pro 2013 and I receive the following error message.
An error (512) occurred during the action Delete Pages. Visio cannot delete the page because it is open in another Visio window.
I have done a search but the only thread I found doesn't help as there isn't a PDF file involved here.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

I am using Visio 2007. I recall in a previous version of Visio, I frequently used a special connector with which you could connect the center points of two circles, and each end of the connector line could be moved with a yellow handle to start at the edge of the circle (so the line would not draw across the shape.)
I can't find this connector in Visio 2007. Is it in there somewhere, or is there another connector that has comparable behavior?

Good morning
I am working on a monthly calendar shape that uses appointment shapes as well as other miscellaneous shapes.
I want to have a user select an appointment shape, click on a button to run a macro which will send the appointment
date and time information to an Outlook email notification.
I am stumped on Visio's date/time decimal values from 1899 shown in the shape sheet.
Using the shape sheet decimal value...
Year = shape sheet value divided by 365, add the result to 1899...

Hello to all,
I have a query regarding Visio 2013 and how to colour shapes in alignment with pre-set shape data criteria (as reflected in their respective Shape Data boxes).
e.g. I would like every shape with a certain 'Department' entered alongside it in its Shape Data box, to appear in (a pre-selected) shade of green.
I have searched under every existing toolbar and accompanying option/s, and am currently still unable to work out how to do this.
I would like to be able to do this...

I am attempting to put a very light gradient fill in the team frame and have found how to open the Shape Sheet and set:
Geometry1.NoFill = FALSE
The color appeared however the arrowheads at the ends of the line disappeared. As soon as I set it back to TRUE, they reappeared and the color of course disappeared. Noting that the Line attributes come from the current theme by default,I thought that a change to the value above might affect theme settings so I tried setting the following...

Fair warning, First time with MS Visio, but I wanted to make my first project something I felt worth while doing and warrant trying it out..
So I have a flowchart
Box 1 > Box 2 >Box 3> etc etc.
Is there a way to have it that when a person veiwing my document mouses over Each box a bigger box appears on their screen with more particulars about box 1, box 2 etc.
Or even setting it up so they would be able to click the box once to get the pop up and click it a second time to make it revert?

After making the diagram below:

I save and close visio.
After reopening I get the following diagram:

It happens everytime, all the arrows go bonkers. It gets fixed by moving the boxes around anf the arrows appear correctly.

I would like the footer in a visio file to display a number contained in a seperate excel sheet.
If I wanted to do this in word its easy. Copy value across and paste special to keep link.
Visio doesnt allow this. Any function/formula to use to do this utilising the field options?

I have been able to find, in multiple places, the full list of VisUICmd values, but I have not been able to find any descriptions of what each one is used for. This is only an issue since some of them are not clear in their naming. Also, some of them, such as visCmdSetCharColor and visCmdTextFont seem like they should have some additional argument so that it knows what to set the value to. Where, if anywhere, might I be able to find this information?

I have installed Visio 2016 and am need to draw some HVAC and process drawings but I cannot find the engineering shapes that have always been part of previous versions of Visio I have used.
can anyone tellme if they are supposed to be in the Visio software. If not where do we source them.

Hello,
Sorry I'm a visio noob. I've created an Org Chart by importing data from a spreadsheet. I shifted around quite a few of the shapes, and realised I also had too many fields for the data I needed.
I selected all, and used "define shape data" to remove the extra fields. I clicked on a few individual shapes to see if the fields were gone and indeed they were.
But when I use Org Chart - Display options the deleted fields are still there, but not selected to be visible in the text...

I am trying to import an Excel file to create a Gantt chart in Visio.The error message "You do not have the required mapped columns to continue ..." shows when I import a new Excel. I have used Task #, Task Name, Start Date, Finish Date as my
column headings but the Wizard will not recognise them. I have exported an excel from Visio to use for Import and populated it with my own data. Any workarounds to make this work?

I am looking for the ability to have a go back button on each page of project. This button would allow the user to go back to the last page viewed. This button should be able to process the location of the last page viewed from any page in the project.
I am not a VBA programmer but I am using hyperlinks and off page connectors.

Hello everyone,
I'm trying to use PDF floor plans to generate a CATV map. I am able to convert these to high resolution images that I can then import into Visio. When I click on the image to view it it looks ok, but once I drop it into Visio it makes it all blurry and pixelated, making room numbers and markings illegible. Is there a way to force Visio to us the original image size?

1) How do I move between "Font" and "Character Spacing" headings under "Font"?

My co-worker and I are working on the same document, from what we can tell all of our settings are the same but when we pull the document up the color changes (the fill color in our title and any other filled boxes). I have Visio 2010 Professional but for some reason the "Org Chart" menu item which is normally to the right of the "View" menu is missing. I cannot get the Org Chart Wizard to begin the import process which I normally use to import my Excel file. Is there a DLL or EXE missing somewhere in my Visio directory or something else which is preventing the Org Chart menu item from displaying? Any help would be appreciated.

I would like to know how or if I can remove the dimension text from a door shape in Visio 2016.
I know that when it's not selected that it goes away. But what is causing the issue is trying to arrange the shape in the drawing that is causing the issue. The text gets in the way.

I am trying to grab a portion of an existing Visio diagram to copy to a new (Visio) page. I tried the Select tool with "Area Select", but it doesn't seem to grab the entire area I select. It reduces it. Then what do I do with it? Copy didn't seem to work. Using Visio 10 now.

Hi, trying to use the Organization Chart Wizard by importing a 3-columns table, as following:
ID: Unique Number
Name:
Hebrew text
Report_to: Numbers from the ID field
What seems to be the problem?

I am using Visio 2016 and customizing the swimlane and flowchart shapes to meet corporate standards.
When I place a swimlane, the title bar and phase bar appear by default (Visio1.png). To get rid of them, we have to manually clear the
Show Title Bar and
Show Separators options on the CROSS-FUNCTIONAL FLOWCHART menu (Visio3.png). Then, I have to recolor the top line to match the branding colors recommended by our branding team.

Hello all. My Visio 2019 is crashing when I attempt to open drawings. These drawing opened fine with 2016. Currently running Office 365ProPlus.
The Files are in .vdmx but I've converted them to .vmd and Visio still crashes when opening them.
For testing. I've pulled these drawing off a back up server, thing that the ones on my laptop might be corrupted somehow, but the backups also crash Visio. Others can open these drawing just fine, so its unlikely its the file, unless there is come...

I have a pre-existing P&ID that I am trying to copy from one Visio file to another. Upon pasting into the destination file, all the shape tags disappear. I can double click each shape and see/edit the text that is supposed to be visible. Upon clicking away from the shape, any edits are retained, but the text disappears. Edits are only visible after double clicking again.
